Chateau De Thau

AOP Côtes de Bourg

In the twelfth century

The first stones of the Chateau de Thau are laid at the very beginning of the area of  English Aquitaine.

At that time, Bordeaux wines were sent to the British court.

In 1700

We could there  to arrive  by boat thanks to the peyrat located below and decorated with two pavilions.

An inventory reveals  that the cellar had three presses, two crushers, three vats and 8 douillats (these are also vats),

28 full barrels"  of another red wine"  and  "21 barrels of beverage for the workers".

In 1963

We redeem  this emblematic castle of the Bourgeais,  fallen into disrepair after the French Revolution, with the firm intention of restoring  his greatness.

There follows a heavy work of restructuring the vines and the renovation of the cellars.

To allow the terroir to deliver the best of its potential, we have  appeal  at  vinification techniques combining modernity  and traditions.

The comment
by Albert Schweitzer

"My wish is to create an elegant wine combining power and complexity.

I select the best plots and assemble them with creativity and  precautions  to obtain this wine which symbolizes the quintessence of our terroir and our know-how.

Through him, I aspire to communicate my passion for nature and art and  hope to share it with as many people as possible."
